Youth Advocate

Mary Njeri Omonndi is a Kenyan youth advocate passionate about gender equality, access to quality health and education services, meaningful youth engagement, environmental conservation, good governance and social accountability. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Ecotourism and Hospitality Management, Business Management and Entrepreneurship, Digital Marketing with a wide experience in strategic leadership management and policy advocacy.

Through voluntary work and in collaboration with other advocates, she was privileged to volunteer in Malawi through HeforShe project in 2016. The project focused on women empowerment, gender equality, and increased access to quality education to grassroots girls and women. In 2020, Mary was enrolled in Global Citizenship Education (GCED) Online Campus sponsored by the Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding (APCEIU) in partnership with UNESCO and Ban Ki-moon Institute for Sustainable Development Goals. She successfully completed the Global Citizenship Education course, which paved the way for my selection as one of the 6th Youth Leadership Workshop participants on GCED- 2020 May Intake, held in South Korea. Mary believes in a just and fair society that prioritizes the rights of every human being. She global citizen because of my unwavering commitment to advocate and be part of the solutions not only in my community but across borders.
