Women Against Violence and Exploitation (WAVE) Project is a two-year project funded by the Netherlands Embassy through Amkeni wa Kenya-UNDP. The project works to promote Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights and reduce cases of gender-based violence among adolescent girls, youth, young women, and PWDs in Kakamega through awareness of existing legal frameworks relevant to SRHR and SGBV prevention. Our target group from the extractive communities of Lurambi, Khwisera, and Ikolomani Sub-counties will be supported and informed on existing legal frameworks on SRHR and SGB, enabling them to identify comprehensive GBV services and referral pathways. The project works with right holders to strengthen advocacy on county health and social protection budgets and engage service entry points to streamline survivors-centered services and trauma-informed approaches.
